What Is a PET Bottle Preform?
A PET bottle preform is a small, thick-walled tube made from Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) resin. It is the starting material used to make plastic bottles through a process called blow moulding or stretch blow moulding.
Think of the preform as the seed — it is heated and then blown into the final shape of the bottle. The neck and thread of the bottle are already formed in the preform itself, which is why choosing the right preform neck type matters for your filling and capping line.
